  1. Decide if Underfloor Heating is the Right Choice for Your Home If you live in an area that reaches lower temperatures regularly or has record lows, you know how important it is to have proper heating throughout your home. Of course, with this you also know how expensive it can be to do so as well. Energy costs continue to rise each year, making finding new ways to heat your home extremely important. One way to do so is by installing extremely important. One way to do so is by installing underfloor heating throughout your home. For those who have never heard of this style of heat, it is a great way to help keep your home warm. Not only is it much nicer to walk on during the cooler months, but it also can distribute the heat throughout your home more easily. Plus, it allows you to lower the number of radiators in your home, giving you a sleeker, more decorated home. Though it you a sleeker, more decorated home. Though it sounds amazing, there are some negatives that come with this style of heat, which you must take into consideration before installing. One of the biggest reasons that people install underfloor heating is to make their home more comfortable. You no longer have to worry about wearing socks or slippers in the house because your flooring is always warm. This is also amazing in bathrooms, when you are stepping out of the shower into your cooler home. In addition to this, it distributes the heat more evenly and consistently around each room. A huge benefit that comes with this and a big reason many have it installed is because this style of heat is more effective. An individual radiator cannot produce the heat that a larger area underfloor unit can. Also, it works at a lower temperature which can help reduce your energy bills. Adding to this, there is less wastage of heat because your floors will stay warm even if you are opening doors, windows, etc. If you are interested in adding underfloor heat to your home, you will need to find a company that can install it for you. There are several types, but electric units are usually the best and can often be installed under any floor type. It works well under stone, tile, wood, and shorter carpeted floors. Obviously, another big benefit is that it is hidden compared to a bulkier radiator which is often unsightly. Though all of these factors seem great, there are some negatives you must consider before making your final decision. As you can probably expect, the biggest negative that many see is the price of this installation. For many, this can be a somewhat expensive process and it can be difficult to install on some types of floors. This will be determined based on the age of your home and the types of flooring; however, it will also differ based on the company you work with. Another negative is that it takes some time to warm up, making a timer important for your unit. However, once heated, most units work extremely well and warm your home accurately. Though these units can be a great addition, they can be broken easily. In many cases, the company that installs your unit will warn you about adding heavy furniture over your heating, as it can cause it to break. Something else to consider is the size of the system you want to install. If you are only installing a smaller system, it will not warm your entire home and can cause cooler areas. This can cause you to still need a radiator in your home. This is more of a personal factor, and deciding which areas of your home need heated this way or if you want to do them throughout your entire home. dkp ELECTRICS Ltd Long Drive, Ruislip, Middlesex,HA4 0HT, United kingdom +44 7947 912522 info@dkpelectrics.co.uk Monday To saturday 8:30AM–8:00PM Payment Method: Cash, cheque, bank transfers Website: www.dkpelectrics.co.uk Website: www.dkpelectrics.co.uk
