  4. NetID -Provides students access to most systems and sites atUConn! Ensure your student has activated theirNetID. NetID Please ensure your student sets up Password Recovery Options using their personal email orcell phone.

  7. A note about choosing a computer for yourstudent! Be sure to check with your student’s college (e.g. School of Business orSchool of Engineering) or major for more specific recommendations! Sometimes, there is information on the program’s website about choosing acomputer.

Wewouldliketoofferafew tips to making the bestdecision: Whattypeof“learner”isyourstudent?(e.g.Dotheyprefertoprint slidesfromclassordotheyprefertohand-writenotes?) Somestudentsliketomakeadecisionafterthefirstsemester,or share with aroommate. Printers MUST have the option for a Wired connection. Wireless printing is not allowed at the University. Students mayconnect to “HuskyPrint” to be able to print to Universityprinters.
