2Ti 2:20-22 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honor, and some to dishonor. (21) Therefore if anyone purges himself from these, he shall be a vessel to honor, sanctified and useful to the Master, prepared for every good work. (22) But flee youthful lusts, and follow righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
We are Vessels in Great Household • Paul’s analogy of vessels • Some may be perceived as more honored than others • No as much about their worth, but: • About we serve different functions • We have capacities, skills, talents • About using the gifts to serve in righteousness
Different Vessels • We have different designs and capabilities • Know your gifts • Develop and serve in your gifts • You will find joy in serving the Lord!
Have Vessel (you) Fit to Serve (1) Therefore if anyone purges himself from these, he shall be a vessel to honor, sanctified and useful to the Master, prepared for every good work. Have Vessel (you) Fit to Serve (2) • Keep your vessel well • Keep your vessel clean • Don’t tarnish yourself with sin and youthful lust • But take care yourself with righteousness, faith, love, peace • Keep your vessel cleansed
APPL - Serve in Harmony • Know we are different in gifts • Essential to respect and value one another • It is necessary to we work unified and collaborate
