  1. Queluz is a small city located about 15 km. from Lisbon. You can go there by train in a short 20 minute trip. In town is the Palace of Queluz, the summer residence of kings and queens of Portugal. The construction of the palace was made in several phases, starting in 1747 and finally finishing in 1792. The palace became state property in 1908 and now is open to the public. Many people compare Queluz to Versailles. Both have magnificent rooms, original furnishings and luxurious gardens.
