  3. FAFSA • FREE APPLICATION FOR STUDENT AID • FILL OUT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTER JANUARY 1 AND BEFORE YOUR COLLEGE PRIORITY DATE (USUALLY MARCH/APRIL) • FILL OUT ELECTRONICALLY, AS IT IS MUCH FASTER at WWW.FAFSA.GOV.

  4. Types of Financial Aid • Grants: Money you do not have to pay back. • Scholarships: Money you do not have to pay back. • Student Loans: Federal or private loans that must be paid back, with interest. • Federal Work Study: Jobs offered to students with financial need.

  5. Selective Service • All Male US Citizens who are 18 are required to register with the Selective Service in order to be eligible for Federal Student Aid http://www.sss.gov.
