EN AW 5754 h11 is a popular temper. 5754 aluminum plate belongs to the aluminum alloy that cannot be strengthened by heat treatment, and is mainly determined by the solid solution strengthening and fine grain strengthening of Mg atoms. During the production of 5754 aluminum alloy plate, the ingot is annealed after hot rolling and cold rolling, and the annealing process is the key to the final performance of the finished plate. 5052 and 5754 aluminum plate belong to luminum-magnesium alloy, and it is difficult to distinguish them from the appearance. But the 5754 aluminum sheet price is relatively high, 200-300 dollars higher than that of 5052 aluminum sheet price. The magnesium alloy content of 5052 aluminum plate is lower than that of 5754 aluminum plate, so there is a certain difference in hardness between the two. Usually,
the Webster hardness of 5052 aluminum plate is around 8-12 degrees, and the hardness of 5754 aluminum plate is around 12-14 degrees. 5454 aluminum sheet is also a Al-Mg alloy, a typical antirust aluminum, with medium strength, good formability, corrosion resistance and weldability, and meets the requirements of marine pipelines for fatigue strength, plasticity and corrosion resistance of materials. The marine pipeline made of 5454 aluminum coil has a long service life and high material performance, which can reduce the number of maintenance during use. At the same time, it is also a common material for pressure vessels such as fuel tanks and oil tanker. The magnesium content of 5454 aluminum plate is 2.4-3.0%, and it also contains a small amount of silicon, copper, zinc, manganese and other elements. The tensile strength is greater than 215MPa, which is about 20% higher than the strength of 5052 aluminum plate, and its characteristics are roughly the same as 5154, but the corrosion resistance in harsh environment is better than 5154 aluminum plate. 5454 sheet can be used in high temperature environment, or transport high temperature liquid. Three Tempers of 2024 Aluminum Sheet Aluminum 2024 is divided into 2024-O, 2024-t3, 2024-t4, 2024-t5 and 2024-t351 according to the heat treatment temperature. The mechanical properties of these 2024 alloys may vary due to the tempering of the material. 2024 T3 aluminum is 2024 aluminum in the T3 temper. To achieve this temper, the metal is solution heat-treated, strain hardened, then naturally aged. 2024-T3 shall have an ultimate tensile strength of 400–430 MPa (58–62 ksi) and a minimum yield strength of 270–280 MPa (39–40 ksi). It has an elongation of 10-15%.
2024-T4 aluminum is 2024 aluminum in the T4 temper. To achieve this temper, the metal is solution heat-treated and naturally aged. It has the highest ductility compared to the other variants of 2024 aluminum. 2024-T6 aluminum is 2024 aluminum in the T6 temper. It has an ultimate tensile strength of 140–210 MPa (21–30 ksi) and a maximum yield strength of 97 MPa (14,000 psi). The elongation (stretch before ultimate failure) of the material is 10–25%, which is allowed by the applicable AMS code. Aluminum 2024 is one of the strongest 2xxx alloys, and copper and magnesium are the main elements in this alloy. The most commonly used tempered designs include 2024T3, 2024T351, 2024T4, 2024 T6 and 2024T4.
