EDC 601 Instructional Technologies Animating Text Animations are effects that are performed on objects on a slide – such as text dissolving or a graphic appearing. Transitions are effects between slides – such as vertical blinds or fading. We will focus on animations, and you can explore transitions.

EDC 601 Instructional Technologies Graphics You can format a picture by rotating it, changing its position, and its size. The sizing handles on left & right and top & bottom only change the length or height. The corner sizing handles change both dimensions maintaining the aspect ratio. You can also use the cropping tool to crop an image.
EDC 601 Instructional Technologies Graphics Clip art images are stored as vector graphics and can be ungrouped into their individual components. Once this is done, you can change the color, orientation, and add or remove components. All images are embedded in a PowerPoint presentation, so there is no need to copy the files to a directory or CD/DVD. Note: WHEN DEVELOPING A WEB PAGE, ALL IMAGES ARE LINKED!!!

EDC 601 Instructional Technologies If you select “movies” from the Clip Organizer, you do not get the play option since they are animated gifs.
EDC 601 Instructional Technologies Playing .mov files You can play a .mov file by linking to the file. The default .mov player (usually the QuickTime player) will display the video. However, unlike the Media Player, the video appears “where ever it wants to!” Once it begins playing, you can move and resize it. Create an object, text, a graphic, or button that will link to the file. Sent the path to the file. (Remember this, and all videos, should be in the c:\temp folder!!!)
