The Prophet’s Boldness and Strength • The Boldness of Elijah. • Elijah was a man with a nature like ours. • The difference between him and us is due to the special work God had for him and the fact that he was fully submitted to God. • When he relied on his own resources, he became as weak as a child.

The Prophet’s Boldness and Strength • He dared to stand before King Ahab and pronounce the judgment of God on him and his kingdom. • Elijah dared to believe God. • 1As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word.” (1 Kings 17:1, NIV)

  4. The Prophet’s Boldness and Strength • Elijah faced Ahab with the news of God’s judgment, the drought had existed for six months. • Elijah was in a place of danger when he stood before Ahab.

  5. The Prophet’s Boldness and Strength • The Secret of Elijah’s Strength. • The first part of his secret was his prayer life. • Elijah had a knowledge of God. • His knowledge of God was a growing knowledge.

  6. The Prophet’s Boldness and Strength • Another reason for Elijah’s strength was his knowledge of God’s presence. • 5“I will never leave you, I will never forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). • Elijah was the man he was because he was a man of faith.
