The literal meaning of this poem is that a man’s trying to walk out into the sunlight from darkness, but he keeps getting sucked back in. Also, the man is trying to find happiness but due to the darkness, he just gets sucked back in. He becomes silence and hears music from and accordion that’s reduced to almost nothing, and finally the accordion goes back into its case. Literal Meaning:
