Polepick Mountain has steep, sandy, unstable soils that are sensitive to salvage logging. • Salvage logging would remove trees and vegetation that stabilizes slopes. • Old skid roads added to the flood damage and costs. • Debris flow potential was not adequately considered during planning. • Salvage logging will increase the likelihood of future debris flows.
