  2. SDOC HIGH SCHOOLS College and Career Ready Student can qualify for & succeed in entry-level, credit-bearing college courses Student who can complete pathway-oriented (career)training without need for developmental coursework or remediation

  3. SDOC HIGH SCHOOLS College and Career Ready Must have paradigm shift: all students CAN become college and career ready (focus must shift to ALL students will learn)

  4. SDOC HIGH SCHOOLS College and Career Ready Literacy Focus: -no longer confine literacy to the ELA classroom -building foundations for all content through literacy

  5. SDOC HIGH SCHOOLS College and Career Ready Curriculum Development: -Align units/assessments to CCSS -Build Academic/Essential Vocabulary -Provide time for teacher collaboration

  6. SDOC HIGH SCHOOLS College and Career Ready Instructional Delivery: -Develop appropriate instructional practice and units -Focus on skill development rather than “The Answer” -Always ask “WHY?”

  7. SDOC HIGH SCHOOLS College and Career Ready Assessment: -Incorporate higher levels of Bloom’s questioning, Depth of Knowledge Wheel -Increase formative assessment Who owns the learning??
