What is biomass? • Biomass is plant matter such as trees, grasses,agricultural crops or other biological material. • It can be used as a solid fuel, or converted into liquid or gaseous forms • Produce for the production of electric power, heat, chemicals, or fuels. • By integrating a variety of biomass conversion processes, all of these products can be made in one facility, called a biorefinery.

3. Advantages and Specific of using BIOMASS power • Industry in its infancy • Could create jobs because smaller plants would be used • It’s cheap • Production of biomass is a growing industryas interest in sustainable fuel sources is growing.

4. Constraint of develop Biomass power in Hong Kong • Geographical factors • Hong Kong does not have enough animals, plants and lands to produce biomass power • Economic factors • although produce biomass power is cheap, but we should use large amount of technician or lands to produce it • Technological factors • Hong Kong doesn't have a good technique and any experience • Environmental factors • by produce the biomass power, the quantity of carbon contained in the soil will be decreased

5. Why Biomass Power is not suitable to be developed in Hong Kong • 1. Hong Kong does not have enough trees, grasses, agricultural crops, farms and biological material • 2. The technique is much higher than produce another fossil fuel or renewable energy • 3. The spaces for developing biomass power are not enough
