His invention was so good that any “copies” attempted by competitors could not last as long. Soon train engineers asked only for “the real McCoy”. He patented over 50 inventions in his lifetime.

22. SPACE ARM Developed in Brampton Ontario at Spar Aerospace Ltd., the Canadarm has been part of every shuttle mission since 1981. In 1998 the new version of the “arm” was installed on the International Space Station.
