  3. Adjective or Adverb? (copy) AdjectiveAdverb • clear + ly = clearly • quiet + ly = quietly

  4. Identify the Adverbs… • Oklahoma is not the Cherokees’ original home. (Find the verb first) adverb = “not”, modifies “is” • A number of Cherokees still live in the mountains. (Find the verb first.) adverb = “still”, modifies “live” • The Cherokees readily supported the British. adverb = “readily”, modifies “supported”
