Definitions • Value: The word “value” has several meanings. 1. One is the actual worth of an object or an item, in monetary terms. 2. Personal measure of worth, such as how important certain beliefs, principles or ideas are to someone. • Principle:Principle is a faculty of the mind

Summary of relationship between values and behavior • People tell others about the values that are important to them. • People behave according to their values • People make decisions based on their values. • People stand up for their values. • People feel guilty if they do not behave according to their values
