FAIRFAX, Va. − AR gun owners have the opportunity to hone their skills during a course taught by Green Ops at the NRA Range in Fairfax, Va., on Sunday, July 12, 2015, from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Developed to help people improve their carbine-handling skills, the one-day course, open to the public, will cover everything from basic marksmanship to advanced drills. The mission of Green Ops is to provide the same high level of training to the civilian world that the military and law enforcement receive. The instructors for this course have worked for the military, federal government, law enforcement and/or have worked as a private security contractors overseas. They have taught thousands of students to shoot both in the civilian world and in the law enforcement community. During Sunday's course, participants will learn more about: • Equipment setup • Zeroing and mechanical offset • Professional weapons handling • Shooting ready positions • Tactical and emergency reloads
• Malfunctions • Mechanics of the shooter • Personal performance and fundamentals The course cost is $150. Attendees will need to bring the following equipment: an AR rifle (5.56/.223); three magazines (with ability to retain two magazines on their body); a sling; 200 rounds of ammunition (no steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer rounds); and ear and eye protection. Optional knee pads are recommended. Weapons should be zeroed in prior to the class.
