How do you know if a website is illegal or not • Secure site-starts with HTTPS instead of HTTP, they will have lock icon in address bar • When you click on the lock icon, you can see the websites security report
Websites that aren’t trustworthy • If a site makes offers that are too good to be true, it can indicate the sale of illegal or pirated products • You are asked for a credit card number as a verification of identity, or asked for personal information that doesn’t seem necessary X
Sites that have proven track record of reliability/integrity • Sites that specialize on information you need • If website is from established institution most likely trustworthy • Business/commercial sites are most likely trying to sell something
