Taking Charge of you health • What is Health • Combination of physical, mental/emotional, and social well being. • This is what this class/book is all about…giving you the knowledge and skills you need to take charge of your health for a lifetime!!!!!
Health Triangle • What could possibly make up the health triangle…??? • Physical Health • 8-10 hours of sleep each night • 30-60 minutes of physical activity • Bathe daily and floss and brush your teeth every day
Continued… • Mental/Emotional health • Enjoy challenges that help you grow • Accept responsibility for actions • Express emotions in appropriate ways • Mental/Emotional health also includes spiritual health, this simply involves having a feeling of purpose and a sense of values.
Continued… • Social Health • Seeking and lending support when needed. • Communication clearly and listening to others • Showing respect and care for yourself and others • When your health triangle is balanced, you have a high degree of wellness • Ignoring any area of your health triangle can affect your total health
