Paul Personne in ENGLISH • Paul Personne whose real name is Rene-Paul Roux, was born in Argenteuil, in the Paris region on December 27, 1949. He spent part of his childhood not far from there in the town of Houilles. His father was a workman and sometimes played the harmonica. As for the young Rene, he discovered music on the radio. His preferences went from Aznavour to Piaf until the day he heard Eddy Mitchell and Johnny Hallyday. • He is a blues artist active since 1966 to present day playing guitar and singing. First steps to a solo Career • If English seemed to by the most appropriate language to accompany Paul Personne's music up to now, the ruination of the groups he had played with allowed him to think this over. At the beginning of the Eighties, he started to write in French. Several titles were concocted with a demo in mind. In October '82 Paul Personne's first album was released on CBS records. Several TV and radio appearances and then nothing. The record company refused to record a second album.

Gilles Vigneault • A poet deeply rooted in his native Quebec, Vigneault has become an icon at home and Quebec ambassador abroad. He is one of the principal figures of the generation of singers who helped the Quebec song find its own identity, even while helping it find a universal dimension. • Born 27th October 1928 in Natashquan, Quebec. • Vigneault is a poet, publisher, singer-songwriter. • His most famous song is “Gens du pays” which is a sort of national anthem for the people of Quebec. • He has seven children: Michel, Louis, François, Pascale, Guillaume, Jessica and Benjamin. His son Guillaume Vigneault is a young novelist of note.
Gilles Vigneault • In August 1960, at the request of the audience at the boîte à chansons L'Arlequin in Quebec City, he agreed to sing his earliest song: Jos Monferrand, written in 1957, which had been recorded by Jacques Labrecque in 1959. This was the beginning of his singing career which sprang up in 1962, when he received the Grand prix du disque from Montreal radio station CKAC. His reputation grew in Quebec and elsewhere with the success of his song Mon Pays, from the sound track of the NFB film La neige a fondu sur la Manicouagan (1965). • He as preformed at venues and large events all over the world and is still a star in today’s modern time even though he is very old at the age of 84. • He has released around 30 albums dating from 1962 to 2012 with his current under the name of “Tu peux dormir le temps nous”.
