  7. Future plans • Collaboration meeting with GSI (December 2014) • Discuss implementation of new features • Focus on the Eclipse plug-in: new release in December Transactional settings Post-mortem integration Full structure support Transactional and multiple release Fully implemented promotion New FESA 2 to 3 migration tool

  8. Agenda • 2013 activities towards ACCOR operational milestone • 2014 new “fesatures” • Future plans • FESA2 to FESA3 Migration status

  9. Migration statusMigration tool • New smart migration tool • Much more advanced than any existing migration tool* • Everything that can be automated is automated • Presented to users on October 17th. Already available. • Integrated in eclipse plug-in (next release) • Courtesy of BartekBielawski and Stefano Magnoni FESA 2.10 class Clang compiler and library AST based code analysis Processing FESA3 class** * to our knowledge ** some manual modifications may be needed

  10. Migration statusMigrated systems • Many critical systems already migrated to FESA3 Power converters QPS Timing LHC Cryo Many kickers Controls generic classes LHC collimators And many more…

  11. Migration statusDevices by framework

  12. Migration statusClasses by framework

  13. Migration statusFECs by framework Total injectors FECs: 1378 Total LHC FECs: 584

  14. Migration statusEquipment Groups’ status • For most equipment groups, migration is a work in progress. • Outstanding equipment groups: • BE/RF: Common agreement between CO and RF that FESA migration will be first priority item for next year. • BE/BI: Priority on LHC classes. Injectors classes migration after LHC startup.

  15. Migration statusFESA 2.10 end of life • FESA 2.10 end of life is (still) end of 2015… • But binaries will still work in 2016. • No support anymore. • No shutdown either: the shell will still work. • No exceptions, unless absolutely justified (LynxOS front-ends for example).
