  2. Paperclip Physics Do you have the skills to: • Communicate physics to a non-scientist? • Work as part of a team? • Build a physics demonstration from items found around the home?

Paperclip Physics • The aim of the competition is to design and demonstrate an experiment to explain the physics behind some application or device, or demonstrate a physics law or principle, using only items that could be found in a normal home. • Judges include a physics teacher, a non-scientist and a third level physicist

  4. Paperclip Physics • Competition is open to Transition year & first-year Leaving Certificate • Overall winners of the competition in Ireland are funded to go to the Institute of Physics headquarters in London for a Grand Final • Every school should receive an application form during the autumn term
