Short-Term1 – 5 Years Out • Introduction of Risk-Informed Decision into the FERC dam safety program • First set of guidelines to be posted to FERC website in the next few weeks • Use will be on a trial basis with a few carefully selected projects • Deterministic Guidelines will still apply to most projects • Continued focus on ODSP • Need to address issues related to remote operation

  3. Mid-Term5-20 Years Out • Broader use of Risk-Informed Decision-Making • Integration of Dam Safety risk assessments with business Risk Management processes • Development of Systems Analysis tools

  4. Long-Term20 Years+ • General use of Risk Assessment techniques across all FERC Projects • Introduction of Systems approaches to assess safety
