Interface for smart energy devices including appliances, energy storage, renewable devices and so forth, used in residential home and complex public area. RC(Residential Complex) • Residential Complex is • - a domain space that has two collocated domain areas of complex community public and multiple private homes. • In the public area, there are both type of devices; for complex community public and private personal. • In the private homes area, there are only private energy devices. ISO/IEC JTC1/SC25/WG1 Milan, Italy wkpark@etri.re.kr
1. Introduction (2/3) RC-EMS(Energy Management System) • To monitor and control energy usage in the RC domain • To provide energy services aiming to optimize electrical energy usage in the residential complex domain including multiple private homes and complex community public area. < System Configuration for RC-EMS > ISO/IEC JTC1/SC25/WG1 Milan, Italy wkpark@etri.re.kr
1. Introduction (3/3) WD 15067-3-x • covers a system to manage energy usage in the residential complex area. • specifies physical and logical interfaces for interconnection of systems (e.g., server, gateway and device) in the sub-domains: private homes, complex public area and service provider. • defines following interfaces • for intra-HAN area (residential home) • for private home to home • for a private home to residential complex public area • for intra-NAN area (residential complex public area) • for residential complex public area to external service provider • for a private home to external service provider • for any exterior user to a private home ISO/IEC JTC1/SC25/WG1 Milan, Italy wkpark@etri.re.kr
2. Proposed Model of RC-EMS for HES Overview • Objectives • to provide system model and interfaces to manage and interconnect system and devices of the residential complex. • to provide interfaces model for interconnection of systems and devices in the residential complex. • Scope - WD 15067-3-x specifies following issues; • System and Network configuration model for RC-EMS • Interconnection model for RC-EMS • Use cases for the interconnection for RC-EMS: Interface classification and detailed interface description based on the interconnection for RC-EMS ISO/IEC JTC1/SC25/WG1 Milan, Italy wkpark@etri.re.kr
2. Proposed Model of RC-EMS for HES System Configuration • Private residential home area with private energy devices (Residential EMS) • Residential complex area with both types of devices, private energy devices and complex community public devices ISO/IEC JTC1/SC25/WG1 Milan, Italy wkpark@etri.re.kr
2. Proposed Model of RC-EMS for HES Network Configuration • HAN (Home area network) • NAN (Neighbourhood area network) ISO/IEC 15067-3 No complex type ISO/IEC JTC1/SC25/WG1 Milan, Italy wkpark@etri.re.kr
2. Proposed Model of RC-EMS for HES In HAN domain area • HAN devices are used for private home and are owned by the home user. • Example of HAN devices • Energy consuming devices (appliances in ISO/IEC 15067-3) • Energy generating devices (DER in ISO/IEC 15067-3) • Energy information device • Energy charging and discharging devices (energy storage and electric vehicle) • Energy management devices (Energy management agent in ISO/IEC 15067-3) • Energy metering devices (smart meter and smart plug) ISO/IEC JTC1/SC25/WG1 Milan, Italy wkpark@etri.re.kr
2. Proposed Model of RC-EMS for HES In NAN domain area • Example of NAN devices • Energy consuming devices for the common use by the complex community for RC • Energy consuming devices for private personal use • Energy information devices to manage total energy usage in the RC domain • Energy generating devices for the complex common use, which is not belong to any private home user • Energy charging and discharging devices (energy storage and electric vehicle), some of them can be for the complex community and the others can be for a private home user • Energy management devices (energy management server to manage the energy usage totally in the RC domain) • Energy metering devices (smart meter owned by a utility or a service provider) ISO/IEC JTC1/SC25/WG1 Milan, Italy wkpark@etri.re.kr
2. Proposed Model of RC-EMS for HES Conceptual Connection Model for HES • Multiple residential home area sub-domains and single public common area for residential complex (apartment’s community) are interconnected in the RC-EMS. ISO/IEC JTC1/SC25/WG1 Milan, Italy wkpark@etri.re.kr
2. Proposed Model of RC-EMS for HES Another typeof Connection Model for RC-EMS • A model to define interfaces for RC-EMS • 7 interfaces for RC-EMS ISO/IEC JTC1/SC25/WG1 Milan, Italy wkpark@etri.re.kr
3. Use cases for Interface of RC-EMS for HES Typical components and configuration to define use cases • configured with three parts of area, private residential home area, residential complex public area, external service provider area • Complex public area has two types of devices, for private use and for community public use ISO/IEC JTC1/SC25/WG1 Milan, Italy wkpark@etri.re.kr
3. Use cases for Interface of RC-EMS for HES Logical Architecture with multiple homes • configured with multiple residential homes with independent HEMS(Home Energy Management System) • is required to define home-to-home connection ISO/IEC JTC1/SC25/WG1 Milan, Italy wkpark@etri.re.kr
3. Use cases for Interface of RC-EMS for HES Taxonomy of RC-EMS Interconnection (1/5) • Case 1: Interconnection for intra-HAN area (residential home) • Case 2: Interconnection for private home to home • Case 3: Interconnection for a private home to residential complex public area • case 3-1: for private devices in the residential complex public area • case 3-2: for public devices in the residential complex public • Case 4: Interconnection for intra-NAN area • Case 5: Interconnection for residential complex public area to external service provider • Case 6: Interconnection for a private home to external service provider • Case 7: Interconnection between any exterior user and a residential home devices ISO/IEC JTC1/SC25/WG1 Milan, Italy wkpark@etri.re.kr
