  4. Tire Amnesty Program • Initiative to remove waste tires due to concerns about mosquito-carried viruses • Applies to: • Private property owners • Municipalities • Does not apply to: • Commercial waste tire collectors

  17. Progress Report • Orange County Code Enforcement tire generator inspections • Visited 11 storefronts in NW Orange County • 6 of the 11 could not produce manifests and had a total of 1,150 tires on the 6 sites • Five warning citations were issued

  18. Progress Report • Orange County Sheriff’s Office • Records for the last year show 275 calls related to trash and 11 reports related to tire dumping • Issued a citation to an individual for illegal dumping (misdemeanor) • April 12, 2011, arrest made for alleged illegal tire dumping
