A business must answer… • Who are we? • What do we do? • How do we do it? • Why do we do it? • How do we want to be seen by our customers? What are you made of …the bones of your business! Branding
Step 4: Write a Mission Statement A mission statement is a key tool that can be as important as your business plan. It captures, in a few sentences, the essence of your business's goals and the philosophies underlying them. Equally important, the mission statement signals what your business is all about to your customers, employees, suppliers and the community. Building a Logo and Character • Step 5: Use new brainstorming sheet to create a logo and character design for your business identity. Step 5 to be finished for homework and due on 4/11 as a check in grade before doing logo in Illustrator. • Sketch out these ideas! How will it look? Think about the best way to sell your business.
Choose the best one! • Decide on 1 logo and one character to use together. Check with me firston 4/11! • Step 6: Create a logo in Illustrator. Due on 4/25! • What colors will be apart of your brands identity? Make a shape for this color and write down the CMYK #s for the color on logo document. • What Typeface will you use in Illustrator? Arial/Garamond/Cambria/etc. Write down the typeface under the color blocks. Example C-65 M-0 Y-1 K-0 Garamond bold at 28pt.

Step 8: Letterhead and Business Card • Due on 5/2! • Use your logo and character to develop a professional letterhead in Illustrator. Check this link out for examples.
