Genre The genre of No Talking is realistic fiction because the events that happen in the book could occur in real life. For example kids in the book make a contest where they can’t talk for two days. That can happen in real life but in this book it was the imagination of the author.
Setting Setting is Laketon Elementary School which is in a medium-sized town in New Jersey. Most events happen in the cafeteria and social studies class.
No Talking summary Dave Packer started the contest of not talking inspired by Mahatma Gandhi who didn’t talk for a whole week! Dave thought it would be a good idea but it didn’t work so well. Soon the teachers found out so they started to bust on the students. After a while the principal found out about the contest so everyone in the grade were in trouble but mostly Dave. He got sent down to the principals office. Dave told the principal about the contest and the principal said to call the contest off. The contest turns out a tie but now everyone learned a valuable lesson.
recommendation I highly recommend this book because I really liked the book. It’s a very exciting book to read that you could never put down. Especially elementary kids will enjoy this book because it relates to their school life.
