About AGE and its mission Voicingtheneeds and concerns of olderpeople in EuropeAGE Platform Europe is a European network of about 165 organisationsof and for people aged 50+ which aims to voice and promote the interests of the 30 million senior citizens in the 28 Member States of the European Union and to raise awareness on the issues that concern them most.We aim at: Bringing older people's point of view in the European policies' debates, regarding the most important dossiers for people aged 50+, such associal protection and pension reforms, anti-discrimination, employment of older workers and active ageing, social inclusion, health, research, accessible mobility and build environment, and ICT. Raising awareness on the users' needs and wishes, on the principle and practice of users' involvement, in order to add value to the European research, to industrial production, to the service provision and policy-making. Pooling with other European NGOs and stakeholders: facing the challenges brought by the demographic change by working together and by sharing the rationale that nothing can be done without the involvement and consent of those the action is addressed to (“nothing for us without us”).

ASAPSA SharingApproachtoPromotingScience The challenge Over the last 5 years the EU has invested more than 5 billion euro in health research. Unfortunately, the benefit of this superb research is rarely communicated to the general public. In fact, despite the fact that 70% of Europeans are interested in medical and health research less than 10% of researchers dissemination activities are aimed at the general public. The solution and the approach ASAPS can help increase the impact of EU research and turn dissemination tasks into an opportunity. At the core of our concept is the Communications are becoming more social, digital, and interactive. ASAPS adds value by presenting science in fun and interesting bite sized chunks, a format the audience can share it across YouTube, and social media. Our first campaign, Hello Brain, will focus specifically on cognitive ageing and will promote brain health and raise awareness of European funded brain research, through the delivery of a multilingual package of films including online short films and a 60 minute documentary suitable for TV broadcast, an interactive website, mobile smart phone and tablet applications, and a pack (DVDs, leaflets, posters) for GPs and other key stakeholders. promotion of science and health through sharing
