Cody Bassett Geography 1820 Applied GIS 1 A Presentation to help you survive…
ZOMBIES GIS And you.
The Criteria • Population Density • Crop Growing Potential • Weather • Man-made/Natural Defenses • Accessibility • Previous Land Use
Where you are now Population Density throughout the USA
Bear Lake • Low Population • May to September growing season • Raspberries and Cattle already available • Cold Winters (12° to 32°) Second lowest temperature recorded in US at -69.3° just 7 miles west of Bear Lake in Logan Canyon
Jackson Hole • Low Population • Tourist town, plenty of shops, abundance of Sporting Goods • Easy to get to • Easy to block/destroy bridges • Plenty of fish and game • Cold winters
Yellowstone • Secluded • Few year round residents • Hostile winters • Plentiful Wildlife • Government supplied • Only a 60 day growing season
Fruita/Torrey, Utah • Secluded • Growing season from April until October • Orchards (Apples, apricots, peaches, pears, plums, cherries, black walnuts, and almonds) • Plentiful water • Warm most of the year
Hawaii • Multiple islands with low Population • Warm all year • Can grow pretty much any crop • Domestic farm animals on the islands • How are you going to get there? It’s 2,390 miles from California
Good luck surviving!!! Here is the actual mathematical formula for a zombie apocalypse I would totally solve it for you, but this isn’t a math class.
