Suggestions on How to Connect with All Ministries of the Parish • Establish a communication administrator within the vocation ministry. • Example: • A Connect Correspondent Administrator or Vocation Correspondent
The Role of the Vocation Correspondent Administrator • Collect the minutes of vocation meetings and pass information to clergy and other ministries and parish community. • Provide updates to parish Sunday bulletin, parish school, religious education, youth ministry, parish council, etc….on upcoming vocation related events.
Take advantage of the Diocesan Vocations Office information that is sent to the pastor and parish. • Especially for Good Shepherd Sunday and Vocation Awareness Week and invite Seminarians to speak. • Building relationships with the other ministry members and establish a vocation representative that will update their ministry monthly. • Design a pamphlet for your own parish about the life of vocations.
Environment • Encourage parish to have a definite visible location (possibly called: Vocations Resource Center , Location or corner) in or on the Church grounds, parish center and school to display vocation information and to build a culture of vocations in your Parish.
Internet Web it Baby • Establish an internet link with the Parish Website • Develop a group email with the connect correspondent of each ministry • Email to other ministries the links of upcoming events of vocations to be discussed within their ministry meetings. • Checking the pros can cons of using the means of communication with twitter or Face book, with you Pastors permission, establish a parish vocation Face book.
