Things to remember • The word for parents in Italian is “i genitori” • They are the ones who “generated” you • The word “i parenti” means “relatives” – all your relatives – by blood and by marriage • The plural “i fratelli” can mean brothers or siblings • The plural “i figli” can mean sons or children

Aggettivi possessivi • In English there is only one way to say “my” • In Italian there are 4 ways to say “my” • Il mio, la mia, i miei, le mie • Which one you use depends on the thing you possess • In Italian you need to use the article il, la, i, or le in front of the possessive adjective 99% of the time • There are just a few important exceptions
