  2. Reminder • Your homework was to read chapters 11-14 and to keep your log books and assignments up to date. • I would like to have a look at some of your work while you are working on other things.

  3. Quotes in your answers • Mr. Ross's explanation of the Nazis' success foreshadows how the Wave will spread throughout Gordon High. According to Mr. Ross, disorganized people cannot resist groups like the Nazis, who are appealing and effective because they are so organized. • “The Nazis might have been a minority, but they were a highly organized, armed, and dangerous minority. You have to remember that the rest of the German population was unorganized, unarmed, and frightened.” Ben Ross, Page 12

  4. Why? • David begins to teach his football team The Wave’s motto. Why? (give quotes and page numbers to support your answer) • Many students think The Wave works. • How might their new beliefs affect their future behaviour? Why? (give quotes and page numbers to support your answer)

  5. Short clear answers • How has Robert’s identity changed since The Wave began? How do Wave members view themselves in comparison to nonmembers? • Laurie’s mother is the first person to object to the idea of The Wave. Why does she come to this conclusion after Laurie tells her only a few details about the movement? Use quotes in your answer!

  7. Reading - homework • Your homework is to finish the book and the assignment • Make sure you cover the questions from Worksheet 3: Focus point & Worksheet 4: Time to think. • To be handed in at the end of week 38! Make sure you have read the book as there will be a follow up assignment!

  8. Check list (reminder) • All answers to the worksheets (Clearly written/typed-see SOM for PDF of reader). • All answers to questions from powerpoint (see SOM) – remember to use quotes. • Reading log (see reader for requirements). • Short list of events in chronological order.

  9. Marking Criteria • Please look at ‘The Wave Assignment - Marking Criteria’ on page 20 of your reader. • This will help you to get the best mark possible! • Your work MUST be your own and MUST be neatly, clearly and attractively presented! • GOOD LUCK! 
