Enrolment Timeline Peak = 580,000
ESR based on Oracle E-Business Suite Customised for the NHS ESR currently on Release 11.5 ESR R9 will upgrade ESR to Oracle Release 12 Overview
Why? Extended Oracle support for 11i ceases in May 2013 so ESR will have to be upgraded before then Oracle will no longer develop on the 11i platform R12 provides the NHS with the foundation to request further development of the Oracle solution
Key Features of R12 Major upgrade to the underlying application and technical infrastructure No significant changes to Core HR and Payroll Significantly improved functionality in the areas OLM and Self Service End User Interface Updates

Learner Groups - Overview Intended use is where there are a frequent ‘Group’ of learners who need to complete the same learning. The Learning Administrator can then use learner groups to define learner access for all objects in the content hierarchy. More efficient and effective learner management

Enhanced Learning Paths - Overview Re-introduces ‘Program’ functionality (from OTA) based on NHS request Significantly reduced number of clicks - Administrators and Learners can subscribe and enrol in one process Prevent learners from withdrawing from classes
Enhanced Learning Paths - Detail Enable Learning Administrators to enrol learners onto classes that are part of courses linked to the learning path. Currently a learner is subscribed to a path. The learner must then enrol (or be enrolled) on each course attached to the path. Enhanced learning paths automate the course enrolment. Classes can be marked as learning path only
