How to avoid discussions of Specific students • Provide index cards • Prepare bulleted phrases • “That’s a great question for the index card!” • “Another great question that is specific to your child! Please email me!” • “Due to confidentiality, I am not permitted to discuss that in a group forum like tonight.” • “I’d be happy to answer that question via email if you capture it on your index card!” • “We will be discussing individual student progress at conferences next month.” • “School wide policy is outlined in the Code of Conduct. I’d have to look up the exact policy to be accurate.” • “ School wide issues can be discussed with one of our Principals. You may email one of them or make an appointment.”
