  3. OBJECTIVE Public Safety Academy • Provide a platform to: • Serve College (Student/Curriculum); • Serve Public Safety Departments; • Serve the community.

  4. Definition • A school for Special Instruction • A school for Special Field of Study ACADEMY

  5. Definition • A group or class having common interest • Common ownership or participation COMMUNITY

  6. EDUCATE • Serve the community by attracting: • Students interested in Homeland Security (Public Safety) careers; • Public Safety Professionals who will pursue a degree in Homeland Security; • Becoming a “Feeder” college for a State College/University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Homeland Security.

  7. TRAIN AND EQUIP • In service training for Public Safety Professionals; • Certificate Programs for Public Safety Topics: • WMD Training • 1st Responder • Emergency Management • Active Shooter • APOST CLE Credits for Professionals

  8. FACILITATE • Director brings assets to serve community; • Serves as Liaison to staff, students and Public Safety agencies. • Adjunct’s/instructors from FBI,DHS,ATF,TREASURY

  9. QUESTION • How can law enforcement, public safety and the private sector embrace a collaborative process to improve intelligence sharing and increase the ability to detect, prevent and solve crimes while safeguarding our homeland?

  11. The Fusion Center • The Fusion Center brings all the relevant parties together to maximize the ability to prevent and respond to terrorist and criminal actions;

  12. The Fusion Center • The goal of The Fusion Center is to provide a mechanism where law enforcement, public safety, and homeland security partners can come together with a common purpose – to safeguard our homeland and prevent criminal activity.
