Revision of the Handbook – Recommended by countries • 12th meeting of the IAEG on MDGs, 2007, Paris • The manual should include relevant information on disaggregations • It should include illustrative examples • 14th meeting of the IAEG on MDGs, 2008, Geneva • The handbook should address the issue of tailoring the indicators to national circumstances
Updated Handbook on MDG indicators • Country perspective, focuses on MDG indicator data production at the national level, using national data sources. • Clarifies the differences between the methods of calculation used by international agencies and those recommended for national experts. • Includes more information: guidelines on data disaggregation, additional references, and information on the new indicators. • Will be published shortly
Updated manual: Supplementary information Supplementary information Alternative data sources Proxy indicators Tailoring to country needs • When official indicators cannot be calculated, have to be modified, or are not relevant for the country
