By Imogen Desforges Text Bullying!
This is Anne, she was text bullied last year. She didn’t know what to do. Day after day, week after week. They just got meaner. It was too frightening for her to tell her Mum, her teacher or someone who knew what to do. Anne got ill with depression, very tearful and didn’t want to go to school. This changed her whole image, and her opinion on bullying. She always thought face to face or physical bullying was worse.
If you were Anne what would you do? In your head decide what you would you if you were Anne out of these five choices. • Try to ignore the messages and not tell anyone • Text back more unpleasantly. • Tell a teacher, parent or police. • Meet face to face to find out who they are • Block their number
Anne did do the right thing. She told the year 10 guidance manager. Before she knew it Anne found herself in the head teachers office with a biscuit in her hand and a police woman looking at the messages on her phone. She didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. “we do have a way to find out who is texting you. The number was there all along!” She heard the police women say. She showed Anne where the number popped up when a message appered.
Anne’s mum came rushing in with a look panic as she saw her daughters tear stained face. “Are you alright dear?” “yes mum, perfect actually”
