  2. ROOT CANAL • The phrase “Root Canal” is scary enough to instill fear in several individuals. This procedure has had a nasty reputation for being painful and lengthy at that. However, it mustn’t be like that; people really don’t need to be this afraid of a Root Canal. The anxiety and all the things that are said about Root Canals are what fuel the fear. Because in truth, research shows that patients who have gone through the system are six times more probable to describe the procedure as painless compared to those who have never gone through it.

A root canal involves the following steps; • Your mouth is numbed with an anesthetic and a rubber dental dam is used to keep it dry and clean • The tooth that leads to the infected pulp is drilled • A suction tube is used to draw out impurities and the diseased pulp • This pulp is replaced by a material that strengthens your tooth and keeps bacteria from entering • Finally, this material is replaced by a filling or a crown

  4. It may not hurt at all: There was a time when root canals were terribly painful but that is a decades-old tale. In the past years, they have become much more advanced and much less painful. The procedure is known to hurt however in the very beginning of it, your mouth is numbed with an anesthetic. Which just pricks your gums lightly. Since you are given medicine, it is more likely that you wouldn’t experience any pain at all.
