Why An Elementary School Branch? • Current economic times reflect strong need for financial education, even for youngest students. • In-School Branch will help teach students wise saving, spending, and sharing habits • Reach out to Jefferson students and families to improve access to financial literacy education and opportunities • Develop healthy attitudes between students and their money • Build a healthy connection between students and their money

Why Community First? • Community First (CFCU) has an extensive background and record of leadership in financial literacy efforts. • Northeastern Wisconsin, Wisconsin and the United States • Strong relationship with AASD: financial literacy focus • High School Branches in every AASD High School • Reality Check Program 2x/year in each High School • Governor’s Council on Financial Literacy • Money Smart Week • Passion • Jefferson Parent

  4. Jefferson Elementary Branch Provides opportunities forALLstudents • Student employees w/ CFCU supervision. • Be a member and make deposits • CFCU will fund a $5 Savings account on their behalf if they choose to open. • Activity Days for everyone to participate

Where and When? • Branch & Activity Area in the Cafeteria • Two CFCU Run Days/Week • Open on November 5th • Activities in advance of opening include hiring students to run the branch, student selection of logo, account openings Tuesday- Activity Day over lunch hour Thursday- Deposit Day over lunch hour

  6. How & Who? Community First team members: • Provide planning, staffing and supervision for Activity & Deposit Days • Camp Songs, Book Reads, Classroom Jeopardy, Outdoor Activities Students: • Members, Participate in Activities, Work at Branch • To provide hands-on experience, students will run branch on deposit day (with Community First adult supervision) • Greeters, Cash Handlers, Computer Operators Jefferson Elementary Staff: • Utilize Branch • Support of concept among students • Collect and Distribute Deposit Pouches on Deposit Days • Utilize CFCU staff, resources for presentations & support.
