  2. GAVO • GAVO is a project, sponsored by the BMBF, for building a "Virtual Observatory" platform to support modern astronomical research in Germany. It is the German contribution to the international activities aiming at the creation of a global Virtual Observatory (VO) network. • Status GAVO II • Review GAVO I • archives • data mining • grid • theory • Role in DCA EURO-VO DCA First Board Meeting

GAVO activities • MPE/A Archives: • ROSAT • Sloan SkyServer Mirror (soon DR5) and peripherals (indices, MOPED, PCA) • Millennium databases (MyDB) • All-sky maps (HEALPix) : ROSAT, WMAP, Planck • Other archives • Heidelberg: various (Hipparcos etc) • Potsdam: RAVE • Datacenter ARI-ZAH • Host small datasets of individual astronomers. • Collaboration with CDS ?
