  2. THE MALTESE ARCHIPELAGO • The Maltese Archipelago lies in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea, some 93kms south of the Italian island of Sicily. • So that is why Malta’s harbours are very important.

  3. GOZO CHANNEL • These ferries operate from Mgarr, Gozo to Cirkewwa, Malta. Both cars and passengers can board on them as well as cargo vehicles, including hazardous cargo.

  4. THREE FERRIES • M.V. Ta’ Pinu • M.V. Gaudos • M.V. Malita

  5. WHO USES IT? • Everyone, especially Gozitan workers, students studying at the University or other schools and also families that need to go at Mater Dei Hospital.

  6. ON BOARD THE SHIP • You can find a cafeteria and book / souvenirs shop. • Unfortunately, sometimes the toilets are not always clean, near the cargo area there is too much pollution, and people leave the rubbish on the tables.

  7. VIRTU FERRIES • Organize trips from Valletta harbour to Catania or Pozzallo

  8. COMMERCIAL CARGO • Everyday, an extra trip is operated from Sa Maison in Pieta’ to Mgarr, Gozo for heavy trucks which carry gas, petrol and diesel.
