  2. Ankle Fractures Our feet and ankles are also pivotal to an active life. When one or more of the bones that form the ankle joint are broken, it results in a broken ankle. A broken ankle is also called an ankle fracture. Ankle injuries are one of the most prevalent bone and joint injuries. These fractures can be partial or complete and vary according to severity. Ankle fractures generally take place at the tibia (the largest of the two bones present in the lower leg) or fibula (thinner of the two bones present in the lower leg) or talus (placed deep inside the ankle), and they are typically caused due to the ankle twisting.

It may happen due to the stress from fall (for example from a high location), slip on icy pavements, accident, or even sports activities.
