Mission • The office is mandated to assist the people of the Archdiocese and other Archdiocesan agencies in witnessing to the fact that all cultures bring unique gifts and talents to the Body of Christ. It serves as a witness to the universality of the Church and a resource for the continuance of Christ’s mission on earth.

  15. Deaf Ministries • Supports local parishes and archdiocesan agencies in making their activities inclusive of and accessible to the deaf offering direct pastoral ministry to deaf persons throughout the entire Archdiocese.

  16. Deaf Ministry Projects • Striving to make it possible for several youth from the deaf community to have a great experience of deepening their faith through pilgrimage at World Youth Day in Madrid next August. • Deaf Senior Wellness program

Mission • Ensure that all events, activities, facilities, programs & services are/become welcoming, inclusive and accessible within the Archdiocese of Boston. • Serve as support and resource to parishes and other diocesan ministries. • Assist parishes/staffs with resources/reasons to become welcoming & accessible to persons with disabilities. • Provide pastoral presence, support and empowerment to persons with disabilities and their families.

Goals of Cultural Diversity Office • Comprehensive calendar of Main Events/Celebrations for Jan 2011-Sept 2011. • Develop an enculturation program for all foreign born priests/sisters serving in our ethnic apostolates. • Updating all of our ethnic coordinators contacts & establishing a regular schedule for contact & discussion. • Establishing lay contacts in each parish of the apostolate i.e. Young Adult Leader(s) & Youth Leader(s). • Hold an ethnic young adult summit. • Establish an ethnic family faith & cultural event. • Encouraging Vocation teams.
