Arunima Sinha is an Indian famous sportsperson. She is the first Indian amputee to scale Mount Everest. Arunima Sinha is the world record holder in the amputee division to climb Mount Everest. She is also a seven-time Indian Volleyball Player. She is now dedicated to social welfare and wants to open a free sports academy for the poor and differently-abled people. She wrote the 2014 book Born Again on The Mountain. Arunima Sinha is honored u201cPadma Sriu201d in January 2015.

  2. • The birth of Arunima Sinha was on 20 July 1988. • She was a Volleyball player in National Team.

  3. • Her life changed after a train incident on the 12th of April 2011. • The girl’s leg was amputated, the right leg got a rod and multiple injuries in the spinal code.

  4. • While recovering, the Indian sportsperson dreamed of climbing Mount Everest. • She attended Nehru Institute of Mountaineering and TATA Steel Adventure (TSAF) in Uttarkashi (India) for learning basic technique.

  5. • First, the brave lady climbed Island Peak in 2012. • She received Aspire Young Achiever Award in the year 2012.

  6. • In 21 May 2013, she successfully summited Mountain Everest even with her disability. • The India TV appreciated the mountaineer with Salam India Gallantry Award.

  7. • Arunima Sinha conquered seven mountains till the end of 2014 which include Everest, Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Kosciuszko, Aconcagua and Carstenz Pyramid. • The book of the achiever, Born Again On The Mountains, was launched in 2014 December.

  8. • Arunima Sinha was honoured with the Amazing Indian • The government of India acknowledge the hard-working woman with the Padma Shri Award.

  9. • Limca Book of Records featured her in the ‘People of the Year’ list in 2016. • She received Tenzing Norgay Highest Mountaineering Award in 2016.

  10. • Arunima Sinha summited Mount Vinson in Antarctica in 2019. • The courageous woman is an inspiration for everyone.
