  1. Dr. Roy Blackburn Physician | Volunteer at Occupy Medical Clinic

  2. Once he completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency, Roy Blackburn joined his friend, Dr. Shane VerVoort in Florida. However, he did not feel that the market was there for a full time practice for both of them.

  3. Dr. Roy Blackburn left, on good terms, after one year. He was recruited by Continental Medical Systems to be a medical director in Kentucky. This new phase of actually doing the business of medicine was very new to him. Many changes in medicine were going on. Roy Blackburn was attempting to maintain as much independence as he could and worked as an independent contractor.

  4. Roy Blackburn’s strategy was based upon a book published by the AMA titled “The Future Of Medical Practice in America” which essentially stated that the physicians who were flexible in what they do and where they go will survive.

  5. Dr. Roy Blackburn continued to attempt to remain independent as a physician which often meant relocation.
