The former liver is donated by another person called a donor. If your liver stops working properly and creates a discomfort inside, it is because of the failure of the liver. Various other causes of acute liver failure include viral hepatitis, bad reactions to illegal drugs, prescription medicines, autoimmune diseases, genetic disorders, blockage of the blood vessels to the liver, toxins, etc.

  3. Different types of liver transplant: 1. Deceased donor transplants: The livers in this situation come from the people who have just died. They are referred to as deceased donors. The surgeon removes the diseased liver inside your body and replaces it with the liver of the deceased donor. 2. Living donor transplants: A healthy person donates a part of his/her liver. This type of donor is called a living donor. A part of living donor’s healthy liver is removed by the surgeon and replaced with the diseased liver of a person. Liver transplant has become a very common procedure and a number of liver transplant surgeons in India are performing the procedure regularly.
