  1. Everything You Need To Know About Preparing For an Endoscopy Endoscopy is an invasive procedure that is ideally used to look at the organs inside one’s body. This procedure is performed by experts known as endoscopists using a long, thin, flexible tube with a camera attached to its end. While the tube is inserted into the body the images are relayed onto a screen with the help of which the specialist determines the problem and also located the problem area.

  2. Preparing for an endoscopy Although endoscopy is an invasive procedure, it does not require making incisions. However, since the insertion of the tube from an orifice can be extremely uncomfortable for the patient, the procedure is performed under mild anaesthesia. As such, when preparing for an endoscopy the patient must keep the following points in mind.

  3. Firstly they should try to ensure that only the best endoscopist in Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore or any city they may be living in is performing the procedure. The expertise and experience that these specialists have help in making things quite smooth for the patient. Also, the patient should always remember to share their complete medical history with the expert so that they can accordingly create the best management plan. Secondly, just like one follows 12 hours of fasting before any major surgery, the same should be followed before an endoscopy. Also, the patient must avoid going to the hospital alone or even coming back alone after the procedure as they may feel a little dizzy or uncomfortable due to the anaesthesia.
