  2. Goals of Parent Night • To understand courses your student must take to meet the new graduation requirements • To better understand the rigor of high school • To lessen the stress and anxiety of high school transition time.

  3. Mission • The mission of the High School Mathematics Department is to teach students analysis and higher order thinking skills that will enable them to thrive in a dynamic environment of Science, Technology, and Mathematics.

  4. Vision • The Mathematics Department devotes itself to prepare students to acquire the following competency skills: • Problem Solving • Reasoning Ability • Technology • Work Ethics

  6. Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II • 4th Math Course to be aligned with the student's post high school plans.

  7. Algebra Skills Learned in Quarter 1 • Interpreting the Structure of an Expression • Solving Linear Equations in One Variable • Solving Linear Inequalities in One Variable

  8. Algebra Skills They Are Learning • Writing Linear Equations in Slope-Intercept Form • Graphing Linear Functions • Solving Systems of Linear Equations by Graphing, Elimination or Substitution Method • Graphing Linear Inequalities in Two Variables • Interpreting and Evaluating Functions

  9. How Can I Help Your Child? • Before/After School tutoring available • Provide online activities to prepare for PARCC Assessment
