Basics • Log Line: • After receiving both a pink slip and divorce papers on the same day, a thirty three year old father of two decides to enroll at the local college in an attempt to rebuild his life while rediscovering interests he had long forgotten about more than a decade ago. • High Concept: • Old School meets Big Bang Theory

  3. Premise • Look out Michigan State University, here comes thirty three year old Joseph Callahan. Recently laid off by General Motors and served divorce papers from his soon to be ex-wife Rebecca, Joe uses his severance money and takes advantage of the government program for laid off auto workers to return to college in an effort to start rebuilding his life. The always cool headed Joe has been informed that as a stipulation of his financial aid he is required to live in the campus dorms. Therefore, Joe says hello to the college life filled with classes, parties, dating, clicks and term papers. Together with a variety of misfit college students and his awkwardly shy suitemates (Eugene, Kenny and Duff), Joe teaches the boys about the lessons of life while they in turn teach him about college in the 21st century.

  4. Characters • Joe Callahan: 33 years old, just laid off from the GM plant in Detroit, and served divorce papers from his wife Rebecca. He has two kids Gavin 5 and Brody 2. • Rob Corddry type.

  7. Characters • Todd, Joe’s R.A. (the Bully).

  8. Characters • Rebecca, (Joe’s ex-wife). • She’s got the house and kids…and she’s a little slutty.

  9. Show Stats • Networks: Showtime/HBO or Fx • Time slot: Half-hour • Season length: Follow the school year. (easy to introduce new characters)
