Milton Friedman Nobel Friedman was an economist working for the government when he started to believe that the government was hurting the economy more than helping it. Freidman goes on to become the leader of the Chicago school of economics which advocated for low taxes, lower government spending, less regulations and that social welfare causes more problems than it fixes.
