25. How to use this file You can teach your child encyclopedia knowledge or reading by: • printing cards with picture at one side and name/subject of the picture on the other side (see page 30) • printing out the pictures and the program of intelligence at the footnotes (see page 30) • playing random slide show when user click the appropriate “Combo” at the first page which will show all words+pictures, words only or pictures only in pre-defined sequence. The effect will be very good if sounds have been added to the slides • since the child would have learnt them and would get bored if you continue to show the material, it is recommended by Glenn Doman that you should at most show • Word cards for 3 times a day for 5 days • Encyclopedia cards for 3 times a day for 10 days

26. How to create your own version • Replace the “subject” at the top of page 1 and at page2 by the subject matter of the 10 words/pictures • Replace the “word1” to “word10” by your own words and then copy to same to the top left hand corner box • Go to [master piece] to add the subject at the bottom right hand corner box. • Add image to the slide next to each word (p.27) • Add sound to each word/picture if you wish (p.28) • Add program of intelligence at the note field under each picture if you wish (p.29) • Save the powerpoint file as pps file. The saved version can be run without using powerpoint software.

27. Adding images to your powerpoint file • Google (http://www.google.com) provides large amount of image files that can be searched by keyword. Click the Images tab and type in your search query in the message box. • You can even specify the size of images to meet your need – large images is better • Remember the principal of good images: they should be precise, unique, unambiguous, fresh, clear and big

28. Adding sound to your powerpoint file • Dictionary with Human Pronunciation: • Mirriam Webster Online at http://www.m-w.com/home.htm • Can let you save the sound file (wav format) without using 3rd party sound recording software • After clicking the red audio icon besides the word, right click “2. Click here to listen with your default audio player” to save the sound file in the new window • In the powerpoint environment, use “Insert” “Slide or Sound” “Insert Sound From File” to insert the wav file you have downloaded to slide of word or the slide of picture or both • Apart from the above dictionary, you can create wav file by recording your own sound

29. Adding program of Intelligence • If you wish to add program of intelligence to teach your child encyclopedia knowledge, you can add them to the footnote field under each picture. • They can be printed out separately (see page 30)

30. Printing Option • Picture Printing: You can print out all the 10 pictures to A4 size paper by selecting “All pictures sequence 1,2,3…” in the print area box. This will print out all the picture pages i.e. page 4,6,8,10… • Words printing at back of the picture cards: please load all the printed picture cards and select “All words sequence 10,9,8…” or “All words sequence 1,2,3…” as appropriate, according to the setting of your printer. This will print out all the words page i.e. page 21,19,17… or page 3,5,7… (caution: Please conduct test yourself to avoid waste of paper.) • Printing pictures with 10 programs of intelligence: You can print out all the footnotes (programs of intelligence) together with the pictures by selecting footnote as print item

31. Random Slide Show Feature • This template has pre-defined 15 combos of random slide show. They can be seen at [Slide Show] [Custom Shows] • That 15 combos including: • 5 combos of 10 words + 10 images • 5 combos of 10 words only • 5 combos of 10 images only • These pre-defined random slide shows work for 10 slides only. If you wish to include more than 10 slides, you should update these pre-defined custom shows to including the additional piece of slides, otherwise they will not be shown.

32. For printing name of bit and subject at the opposite side of the picture: this box in the top left hand corner is a good place for typing the name of each bit printing For printing: please change the font color of this box to “white” in the master piece view. They will be disappeared from the screen. For printing: This footnote area is a good place to show the subject.
